1. Relations between Joint Debtors and the Creditor.
Section 178.
- If there are several joint debtors, the creditor can demand performance from all or any one of them.

- As long as the joint obligation has not been wholly performed, the joint debtors remain jointly liable for the performance.

- If the creditor demands performance from one of the joint debtors, such joint debtor can set up against him :
- (1) Defences which are personal to such joint debtor, and
- (2) Defences resulting from the provisions of this Part III.
