Chapter II. Loan for Consumption.
Part I. General Provisions.
Section 648.
- A contract of loan for consumption is a contract whereby a person called the lender, agrees to transfer the ownership and possession of property to another person, called the borrower, with or without remuneration, and the borrower agrees to return property of the same kind, quality and quantity.

- A contract of loan for consumption is complete only on delivery of the property lent.

- Costs of the contract, costs of delivery of the property lent and costs of return must be borne by the borrower.

- Delivery of the property lent is governed by the provisions of this Code concerning sale.
