มาตรา 593

• ถ้าผู้รับจ้างไม่เริ่มทำการในเวลาอันสมควร ฤๅทำการชักช้าฝ่าฝืนข้อกำหนดแห่งสัญญาก็ดี ฤๅทำการชักช้าโดยปราศจากความผิดของผู้ว่าจ้าง จนอาจคาดหมายล่วงน่าได้ว่าการนั้นจะไม่สำเร็จภายในกำหนดเวลาที่ได้ตกลงกันไว้ก็ดี ผู้ว่าจ้างชอบที่จะเลิกสัญญาเสียได้ มิพักต้องรอคอยให้ถึงเวลากำหนดส่งมอบของนั้นเลย

• If the contractor does not begin to work in a proper time or delays in proceeding with it contrary to the terms of the contract, or if, without the fault of the employer, he delays to proceed with it in such a manner that it can be foreseen that the work will not be finished within the agreed period, the employer is entitled to determine the contract without waiting for the time agreed upon for delivery.
