มาตรา 596

• ถ้าผู้รับจ้างส่งมอบการที่ทำไม่ทันเวลาที่ได้กำหนดไว้ในสัญญาก็ดี ฤๅถ้าไม่ได้กำหนดเวลาไว้ในสัญญา เมื่อล่วงพ้นเวลาอันควรแก่เหตุก็ดี ผู้ว่าจ้างชอบที่จะได้ลดสินจ้างลง ฤๅถ้าสาระสำคัญแห่งสัญญาอยู่ที่เวลา ก็ชอบที่จะเลิกสัญญาได้

• If the work is delivered after the time fixed in the contract, or, if no time was fixed, after an unreasonable delay, the employer is entitled to a reduction of remuneration or when time is of the essence of the contract to cancellation.
