มาตรา 746

• การชำระหนี้ไม่ว่าครั้งใด ๆ สิ้นเชิงฤๅแต่บางส่วนก็ดี การระงับหนี้อย่างใด ๆ ก็ดี การตกลงกันแก้ไขเปลี่ยนแปลงจำนอง ฤๅหนี้อันจำนองเปนประกันนั้นเปนประการใดก็ดี ท่านว่าต้องนำความไปจดทะเบียนต่อพนักงานเจ้าน่าที่ ในเมื่อมีคำขอร้องของผู้มีส่วนได้เสีย มิฉะนั้นท่านห้ามมิให้ยกขึ้นเปนข้อต่อสู้บุคคลภายนอก

• Any performance, either wholly or partly, or any extinction, or any agreement modifying the mortgage or the obligation secured, must be registered by the competent official on the request of the interested party, failing which it cannot be set up against a third person.
