มาตรา 310
- ในมูลหนี้อันพึงต้องชำระตามเขาสั่งนั้น ลูกหนี้มีสิทธิที่จะสอบสวนถึงตัวผู้ทรงตราสาร หรือสอบสวนความถูกต้องแท้จริงแห่งลายมือชื่อหรือดวงตราของผู้ทรงได้ แต่ก็หามีความผูกพันที่จะต้องทำถึงเพียงนั้นไม่ แต่ถ้าลูกหนี้ทำการโดยทุจริตหรือประมาทเลินเล่ออย่างร้ายแรงไซร้ การชำระหนี้นั้นก็ไม่เป็นอันสมบูรณ์
Section 310. (Draft in English from Vol.79)
- The debtor of an obligation performable to order has the right, but is not bound, to verify the identity of the holder of the instrument or the genuineness of his signature or seal; but if the debtor acts in bad faith or with gross negligence, his performance is invalid.

- Japanese Civil Code (1896/98), Art.470;
- The debtor on an obligation performable to order has the right, but is not bound, to investigate into the identity of the holder of the instrument or the authenticity of the signature and seal thereon ; but if the debtor acts in bad faith or with gross negligence, his performance is null and void.
