มาตรา 917
- อันตั๋วแลกเงินทุกฉบับ ถึงแม้ว่าจะมิใช่ออกให้แก่บุคคลเพื่อเขาสั่งก็ตาม ท่านว่าย่อมโอนให้กันได้ด้วยสลักหลัง
- เมื่อผู้สั่งจ่ายเขียนลงในด้านหน้าแห่งตั๋วแลกเงินว่า "แลกเปลี่ยนไม่ได้" ดังนี้ก็ดี ฤๅเขียนคำอื่นอันได้ความเปนทำนองเช่นเดียวกันนั้นก็ดี ท่านว่าตั๋วเงินนั้นย่อมจะโอนให้กันได้แต่โดยรูปการและด้วยผลอย่างวิธีโอนทรัพย์สามัญ
- อนึ่ง ตั๋วเงินจะสลักหลังให้แก่ผู้จ่ายก็ได้ ไม่ว่าผู้จ่ายจะได้รับรองตั๋วนั้นฤๅไม่ ฤๅจะสลักหลังให้แก่ผู้สั่งจ่าย ฤๅให้แก่คู่สัญญาฝ่ายอื่นใดแห่งตั๋วเงินนั้นก็ได้ ส่วนบุคคลทั้งหลายเหล่านี้ก็ย่อมจะสลักหลังตั๋วเงินนั้นต่อไปอีกได้

- [I] Every bill of exchange, even if not expressly drawn to order, may be transferred by means of an indorsement.
- [II] When the drawer has written on the face of a bill of exchange the words "not negotiable" or any equivalent expression, the bill can be transferred only according to the form, and with the effects of an ordinary transfer.
- [III] The bill may be indorsed to the drawee, whether he has accepted or not, or to the drawer, or to any other party to the bill. These persons may indorse the bill afresh.
