มาตรา 978

• คำรับรองนั้นจะเขียนลงในคู่ฉีกฉบับใดก็ได้ และจะต้องเขียนลงในคู่ฉีกแต่เพียงฉบับเดียวเท่านั้น
• ถ้าผู้จ่ายรับรองลงไปกว่าฉบับหนึ่ง และคู่ฉีกซึ่งรับรองเช่นนั้นตกไปถึงมือผู้ทรงโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายต่างคนกันไซร้ ท่านว่าผู้จ่ายจะต้องรับผิดตามคู่ฉีกนั้น ๆ ทุกฉบับ เสมือนดังว่าแยกเปนตั๋วเงินต่างฉบับกัน

• [I] The acceptance may be written on any duplicate, and it must be written on one duplicate only.
• [II] If the drawee accepts more than one duplicate, and such accepted duplicates get into the hands of different lawful holders, he is liable on every such duplicate as if it were a separate bill.
