มาตรา 488

• เมื่อผู้ขายจะต้องรับผิดในความชำรุดบกพร่องแห่งทรัพย์สินที่ขายไป ผู้ซื้อชอบที่ยึดหน่วงราคาไว้ได้ทั้งหมดฤๅแต่บางส่วน เวนแต่ผู้ขายจะหาประกันที่สมควรให้ได้

• The buyer is entitled to withhold the price wholly or partly if the seller is liable for defects in the property sold, unless the seller gives proper security.
