มาตรา 693

• ผู้ค้ำประกันซึ่งได้ชำระหนี้แล้ว ย่อมมีสิทธิจะไล่เบี้ยเอาจากลูกหนี้ เพื่อต้นเงินและดอกเบี้ย และเพื่อการที่ต้องสูญหายฤๅเสียหายไปอย่างใด ๆ เพราะการค้ำประกันนั้น
• อนี่งผู้ค้ำประกันย่อมเข้ารับช่วงสิทธิของเจ้าหนี้บันดามีเหนือลูกหนี้ด้วย

• [I] The surety who has performed the obligation has a right of recourse against the debtor for the principal and interest, and for the losses or damages which he may suffer by reason of the suretyship.
• [II] He is subrogated to the rights of the creditor against the debtor.
