มาตรา 767

• เมื่อบังคับจำนำได้เงินจำนวนสุทธิเท่าใด ท่านว่าผู้รับจำนำต้องจัดสรรชำระหนี้และอุปกรณ์เพื่อให้เสร็จสิ้นไป และถ้ายังมีเงินเหลือ ก็ต้องส่งคืนให้แก่ผู้จำนำ ฤๅแก่บุคคลผู้ควรจะได้เงินนั้น
• ถ้าได้เงินน้อยกว่าจำนวนค้างชำระ ท่านว่าลูกหนี้ก็ยังคงต้องรับใช้ในส่วนที่ขาดอยู่นั้น

• [I] On enforcement of the pledge the pledgee must appropriate the nett proceeds to the extinction of the obligation and accessories and must return the surplus to the pledgor or any person entitled to it.
• [II] If the proceeds are less than amount due, the debtor of the obligation remains liable for the difference.
