มาตรา 970

• คู่สัญญาทุกฝ่ายซึ่งต้องรับผิดและถูกไล่เบี้ย ฤๅอยู่ในฐานะจะถูกไล่เบี้ยได้นั้น อาจจะใช้เงินแล้วเรียกให้เขาสละตั๋วเงินให้แก่ตนได้ รวมทั้งคำคัดค้าน และบัญชีรับเงินด้วย
• ผู้สลักหลังทุกคนซึ่งเข้าถือเอาและใช้เงินตามตั๋วแลกเงิน แล้วจะขีดฆ่าคำสลักหลังของตนเอง และของเหล่าผู้สลักหลังภายหลังตนนั้นเสียก็ได้

• [I] Every party liable against whom a right of recourse is, or may be, exercised, can require, against payment, that the bill shall be given up to him with the protest and receipted account.
• [II] Every indorser who has taken up and paid a bill of exchange may cancel his own indorsement and those of subsequent indorsers.
