มาตรา 227
- เมื่อเจ้าหนี้ได้รับค่าสินไหมทดแทนความเสียหายเต็มราคาทรัพย์หรือสิทธิซึ่งเป็นวัตถุแห่งหนี้นั้นแล้ว ท่านว่าลูกหนี้ย่อมเข้าสู่ฐานะเป็นผู้รับช่วงสิทธิของเจ้าหนี้ อันเกี่ยวกับทรัพย์หรือสิทธินั้นๆ ด้วยอำนาจกฎหมาย

- When a creditor has received as compensation for damage the full value of the thing or right which is the subject of the obligation, the debtor is, by operation of law, subrogated into the position of the creditor with regard to such thing or right.

The most plausible model for this section would be:
- Japanese Civil Code (1896/98), Art.422;
- When a creditor has received as compensation for damage the full value of the thing or right which is the subject of the obligation, the debtor is, by operation of law, subrogated into the position of the creditor with regard to the said thing or right.
