มาตรา 881
- ถ้าสัญญาประกันภัยมีข้อกำหนดไว้ว่า เมื่อเกิดเหตุวินาศขึ้นผู้เอาประกันภัย ฤๅผู้รับประโยชน์จำต้องแจ้งเหตุแก่ผู้รับประกันภัยภายในระยะเวลาเท่าใดไซร้ หากผู้รับประกันภัยได้รู้เหตุวินาศในเวลากำหนดโดยทางอื่นแล้ว ท่านว่าผู้เอาประกันภัยฤๅผู้รับประโยชน์ไม่ต้องส่งคำบอกกล่าวเช่นนั้น

- If the contract of insurance provides that, on the happening of the loss, the assured or the beneficiary is bound to inform the insurer within a certain period of time, no such notice is necessary if the insurer knew otherwise within that period of the happening of the loss.
