มาตรา 470
- ถ้าผู้ซื้อผิดนัด ผู้ขายซึ่งได้ยึดหน่วงทรัพย์สินไว้ตามมาตราทั้งหลายที่กล่าวมาอาจจะใช้ทางแก้ต่อไปนี้ แทนทางแก้สามัญในการไม่ชำระหนี้ได้ คือมีจดหมายบอกกล่าวไปยังผู้ซื้อให้ใช้ราคา และถ้ามีค่าอุปกรณ์ รวมทั้งค่าอุปกรณ์ด้วย ภายในเวลาอันควร ซึ่งต้องกำหนดลงไว้ในคำบอกกล่าวนั้นด้วย
- ถ้าผู้ซื้อละเลยเสียไม่ทำตามคำบอกกล่าว ผู้ขายอาจนำทรัพย์สินนั้นออกขายทอดตลาดได้

- [I] When the buyer is in default, the seller who retains the property under the foregoing sections can, instead of using the ordinary remedies for non-performance, notify the buyer in writing to pay the price and accessories, if any, within a reasonable time to be fixed in the notice.
- [II] If the buyer fails to comply with the notice, the seller can sell the property by public auction.
