มาตรา 498
- สิทธิในการไถ่ทรัพย์สิน จะพึงใช้ได้เฉภาะต่อบุคคลเหล่านี้ คือ
- (๑) ผู้ซื้อเดิม ฤๅทายาทของผู้ซื้อเดิม ฤๅ
- (๒) ผู้รับโอนทรัพย์สิน ฤๅรับโอนสิทธิเหนือทรัพย์สินนั้น แต่ในข้อนี้ถ้าเปนสังหาริมทรัพย์จะใช้สิทธิได้ต่อเมื่อผู้รับโอนได้รู้ในเวลาโอน ว่าทรัพย์สินตกอยู่ในบังคับแห่งสิทธิไถ่คืน

- The right of redemption may be exercised only against :
- (1) The original buyer or his heirs, or
- (2) The transferee of the property or of a right on the property, provided that, in case of movable property, he knew at the time of transfer that such property was subject to a right of redemption.
