มาตรา 655
- ท่านห้ามมิให้คิดดอกเบี้ยในดอกเบี้ยที่ค้างชำระ แต่ว่าเมื่อสิ้นปีหนึ่งๆ ผู้เปนคู่สัญญากู้ยืมเงินจะตกลงกันให้บวกดอกเบี้ยที่ค้างชำระทบเข้ากับต้นเงิน และคิดดอกเบี้ยในจำนวนเงินทั้งหมดนั้นก็ได้ แต่การที่ตกลงเช่นนั้นต้องทำเปนหนังสือ

- Interest shall not bear interest. The parties to a loan of money, however, may, at the end of each year, agree that the interest shall be added to the capital, and that the whole shall bear interest, but any such agreement must be made in writing.
