มาตรา 916
- บุคคลทั้งหลายผู้ถูกฟ้องในมูลตั๋วแลกเงินหาอาจจะต่อสู้ผู้ทรงด้วยข้อต่อสู้อันอาศัยความเกี่ยวพันกันเฉภาะบุคคลระหว่างตนกับผู้สั่งจ่ายฤๅกับผู้ทรงคนก่อน ๆ นั้นได้ไม่ เว้นแต่การโอนจะได้มีขึ้นด้วยคบคิดกันฉ้อฉล

- Persons sued on a bill of exchange cannot set up against the holder defences founded on their personal relations with the drawer or with previous holders, unless the transfer has taken place in pursuance of a fraudulent understanding.
