มาตรา 987
- อันว่าเช็คนั้น คือหนังสือตราสารซึ่งบุคคลคนหนึ่ง เรียกว่าผู้สั่งจ่าย สั่งธนาคารให้ใช้เงินจำนวนหนึ่งเมื่อทวงถามให้แก่บุคคลอีกคนหนึ่ง ฤๅให้ใช้ตามคำสั่งของบุคคลอีกคนหนึ่ง อันเรียกว่าผู้รับเงิน

- A cheque is a written instrument by which a person, called the drawer, orders a banker to pay on demand a sum of money to, or to the order of, a person, called the payee.
