มาตรา 679
- เจ้าสำนักชอบที่จะยึดหน่วงเอาไว้ซึ่งเครื่องเดิรทางฤๅทรัพย์สินอย่างอื่นของคนเดิรทางฤๅแขกอาศัย อันเอาไว้ในโรงแรม โฮเต็ล ฤๅสถานที่เช่นนั้นได้ จนกว่าจะได้รับชำระเงินบันดาที่ค้างชำระแก่ตน เพื่อการพักอาศัยและการอื่น ๆ อันได้ทำให้แก่คนเดิรทางฤๅแขกอาศัยที่เขาพึงต้องการนั้น รวมทั้งการชดใช้เงินทั้งหลายที่ได้ออกแทนไปด้วย

- The proprietor is entitled to retain the luggage or other property of the traveller or guest which is in the inn, hotel or other such place until he has been paid all that is due to him for lodging and other services afforded to the traveller or guest in satisfaction of his needs, including disbursements.
