มาตรา 117
- การแสดงเจตนาใด แม้ในใจจริงผู้แสดงจะมิได้เจตนาให้ตนต้องผูกพันตามที่ตนได้แสดงออกมาก็ดี ท่านว่าหาเป็นมูลทำให้การแสดงเจตนานั้นเป็นโมฆะไม่ เว้นแต่คู่กรณีอีกฝ่ายหนึ่งจะได้รู้ถึงเจตนาอันซ่อนอยู่ในใจของผู้แสดงนั้น

The most plausible model for this section would be:
- German Civil Code (1896), Sec.116:
- A declaration of intention is not void by reason of the fact that the declarant has made a secret reservation of not willing the matter declared. The declaration is void if made to a person who is aware of the reservation.
