TITLE XVIII. Gambling and Betting.
Section 972.
- Gambling or betting contracts are void unless expressly authorized by law.

- [I] If a person, in order to pay a void gambling or betting debt, agrees to incur another obligation, such obligation is void.
- [II] But a bill subscribed or indorsed according to Title XXI on bills in order to pay a gambling or betting debt is valid in the hands of a holder in good faith.
