มาตรา 509
- การขายทอดตลาดย่อมบริบูรณ์ เมื่อผู้ทอดตลาดแสดงความตกลงด้วยเคาะไม้ ฤๅด้วยกิริยาอื่นอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่งตามจารีตประเพณีในการขายทอดตลาด ถ้ายังมิได้แสดงเช่นนั้นอยู่ตราบใด ท่านว่าผู้สู้ราคาจะถอนคำสู้ราคาของตนเสียก็ยังถอนได้

- A sale by auction is complete when the auctioneer announces its completion by the fall of the hammer or in any other customary manner. Until such announcement is made any bidder may retract his bid.
