มาตรา 900
- บุคคลผู้ลงลายมือชื่อของตนในตั๋วเงิน ย่อมจะต้องรับผิดตามเนื้อความในตั๋วเงินนั้น
- ถ้าลงเพียงแต่เครื่องหมายอย่างหนึ่งอย่างใด เช่น แกงไดฤๅลายพิมพ์นิ้วมืออ้างเอาเปนลายมือชื่อในตั๋วเงินนั้นไซร้ แม้ถึงว่าจะมีพยานลงชื่อรับรองก็ตาม ท่านว่าหาให้ผลเปนลงลายมือชื่อในตั๋วเงินนั้นไม่

- [I] A person who puts his signature upon a bill is liable thereon according to the tenor of such bill.
- [II] A mere mark, such as a cross or a finger-print purporting to be a signature on a bill, even if certified by witnesses, produces no specific effect under the bill.
