มาตรา 979
- ถ้าผู้รับรองตั๋วเงินซึ่งออกเปนสำรับใช้เงินไปโดยมิได้เรียกให้ส่งมอบคู่ฉีกฉบับซึ่งมีคำรับรองของตนนั้นให้แก่ตน และในเวลาตั๋วเงินถึงกำหนด คู่ฉีกฉบับนั้นไปตกอยู่ในมือผู้ทรงโดยชอบด้วยกฎหมายคนใดคนหนึ่งไซร้ ท่านว่าผู้รับรองจะต้องรับผิดต่อผู้ทรงคู่ฉีกฉบับนั้น

- When the acceptor of a bill drawn in a set pays it without requiring the duplicate bearing his acceptance to be delivered up to him, and that duplicate at maturity is outstanding in the hands of a lawful holder, he is liable to the holder thereof.
