มาตรา 8
- คำว่า"เหตุสุดวิสัย"หมายความว่า เหตุใดๆ อันจะเกิดขึ้นก็ดี จะให้ผลพิบัติก็ดี ไม่มีใครจะอาจป้องกันได้ แม้ทั้งบุคคลผู้ต้องประสบหรือใกล้จะต้องประสบเหตุนั้น จะได้จัดการระมัดระวังตามสมควร อันพึงคาดหมายได้จากบุคคลนั้นในฐานะเช่นนั้น

- "Force majeure" denotes any event the happening or pernicious result of which could not be prevented even though a person against whom it happened or threatened to happen were to take such appropriate care as might be expected from him in his situation.
