TITLE XVI. Compromise.
Section 907.
- A contract of compromise is a contract whereby the parties agree to settle a dispute between them by mutual concessions.

- A compromise referring to property the sale of which is subject to the execution of an official document is void unless made in writing before the proper official.

- The effect of the compromise is to extinguish the claims abandoned by each party and to secure to each party the rights which are declared to belong to him.

- The parties to a compromise are liable for defects or for eviction as provided in the Title concerning sale.

- Cancellation of a compromise on the ground of mistake is limited to the following cases :
- (1) Mistake as to the identity of one of the parties to the compromise.
- (2) Compromise based on forged or invalid documents.
