- In the conventional view on the history of the "Codification" in the Kingdom of Siam, the current version of the "Book III on Specific Contracts" is characterized as the "New Text" while the old version of Book III peomulgated in January 1925 belonged to the "Old Text", which should be based on the concepts developed by the French commissioners. However, the recent research clearly shows that the Book III of January 1925 had been already coordinated with the Book I and II of November 1925. In this sense, the Book III of January 1925 could be characterized as one of the "New Text". According to this actual understanding, the Book III of January 1929 was not any alternative to the Code of January 1925, but simply its revision.
